Poisons of the World – The Education System
Commencing operation . . .
Overview
In a world full of information which is easily accessible to practically anyone, the current education system has become old school. It is mostly worthless in today’s day and age.
The Problem
The schooling system currently in place teaches a lot of information which is not useful in the working world. The vast majority do not need to know all the nuances in the English language, nor recall every single Mathematics formula out there.
Everyone, however, should know how to acquire and appropriate finances adequately, how to swim and defend themselves, how to cook, and clean. How to live a healthy life. How to interact with others.
My goodness, I could have done with a class on human relations back when I was a child.
Schools should focus more on teaching life skills as opposed to shoving a bunch of irrelevant facts at students, which they will likely never need to use again once they leave school. Schools should promote creativity more rather than rote learning.
The school system is unlikely to move in such a direction, however.
Why?
Because the Government does not want intelligent people who can think for themselves and devise creative solutions that exist outside the box, they want a populous that can easily be manipulated and directed like mindless sheep.
Blind repetition, rote memorisation of facts, and set procedures are all an antithesis to creative intellect and ‘street smarts.’ By conforming everyone into a single system, the Government can cast a wide net of influential control over the population.
This is a huge problem because all humans are unique. Trying to implement a one size fits all educational system will never work effectively for everyone. There is a better way.
The Solution
I believe a two-pronged attack works best here.
- Change the Education System
- Self-Education
1. Change the Education System
A better system would be to initially teach children a broad range of subjects for a couple of years and then set up a scenario where children attend X classes a day, but they can choose which topics they wish to study, via drop-in classes or the like.
The problem with this, though is that people can come in at different abilities, and then it becomes cumbersome for the teacher to educate people who are at different stages. I still believe this would be a step in the right direction, however. It would also encourage children to self-educate themselves more in the fields they are genuinely interested in.
I do agree that some subjects should still be compulsory at all times but lessen the scope of these.
For English, teach people enough so that they can converse in the language, write and read to a decent level. Anything else is unnecessary. People do not need to analyse poetry unless they wish to dive deeper into the realm of English.
For Mathematics, cover off that which is commonly used for the majority of people. Teach people how to calculate, estimate, and budget for bills. Teach basic probability, methods of measurement, and application of standard operators. Anything else is probably unneeded for the vast majority of people.
For computing, teach the fundamentals of using a computer, and if people want to learn more, then they can dive deeper.
I believe that physical fitness and basic self-defence should be compulsory for all students. I would likely advocate that all students should have fundamental knowledge in Jujitsu as this is a non-striking art of self-defence. For those who want to specialise in contact fighting, the option should be available to them also.
2. Self-Education
While changing the school system is a potential solution, I believe it is up to each individual to take responsibility for their learning. In this world we live in, the great and mighty have many things in common. One of them is that they all possess a Self-Education. I am not talking about a school or university education; I am talking about a SELF-EDUCATION, which is made up of proactive self-study and undergoing the many trials set by the school of hard knocks.
My Self-Education Journey
Now I am not completely bashing diplomas or degrees. I am a Mathematics graduate at the end of the day. Studying Mathematics forced me to develop my logical capabilities to great heights. However, attending university has placed a financial debt on me. Also, the actual content that I learned during my degree years was mostly impractical in the working world – even less so, as a writer.
Calculus, trigonometry, and algebra – these things have no bearing on my chosen path.
To get Absolute Ascendancy to where it is today, I needed to understand how to set up and design a website, how to format and write a book.
I needed new skills and knowledge, and I attained them through self-education. We live in the information age, so there is no excuse for not being able to learn how to do a certain task at least theoretically. The practical application will vary depending on the subject at hand.
I do want to say that I do not regret going to university. I have made lifelong friends, and those years are likely to be the best in my life. It was hard work, but a lot of fun.
One of the leading causes of Death
Do you want to know why people retire only to end up dying soon after? It is because they have lost their purpose for living, and their body subsequently shuts down. People who have no purpose, who have nothing to do, are dead inside and soon become dead outside.
Many suicides could be prevented if the self-killers had a definitive purpose to aim toward. When people have a purpose, they are required to constantly learn new things to move toward their intended goal.
The Path to Freedom
If you desire freedom, you need a self-education, because any education that the government advocates will only end with you trapped in metaphysical chains. You must take the initiative, be proactive, and take extreme ownership over your educational development. Because the vast majority of nonsense you learn in conventional educational institutions will not carry you very far at all in the ‘real world.’
People are quick to buy the latest smartphone, or whatever other toy or gimmick they desire. The only things that are worth investing in are your health and your education. Knowledge especially is hugely valuable as it lasts you a lifetime as long as you keep your mind healthy.
My first book, Black Box, details my methods of solitary living and mental training that I frequently do, to keep my mind sharp like a razor. My latest book, Home Workout, unveils my flagship training routine I regularly undertake. I created the workout through self-education and a process of trial and error to find out what works best. I did not initially possess the knowledge on how to build a lean, strong, muscular body. Still, through self-education, I eventually assimilated the information required, and the result is a training method that will stand by me until the day I die.
One book for the body.
One book for the mind.
A self-educated person knows the value of continuing to invest in them-self, challenging them-self to reach greater heights. There is a great secret which I will pass onto you.
Self-Education will free you from your shackles. Stupidity will keep you in chains.
Conclusion
It is vital to supplement your mandatory schooling with your self-education to develop yourself in ways that resonate with you and to free yourself from a system designed to enslave you.
Liberty comes at a cost, and that cost is self-education.
