Overview

It snowed last Sunday. I woke up, drew the curtains back and was bestowed a scene of brilliant white, pictured above. I had no definitive plans for Sunday. I was going to mooch about aimlessly, but the view inspired me to take action. I had been meaning to upload a new piano performance on a couple of pieces I have been working on, but the coldness of winter ill-inspired me to tend to such work. How ironic then, that it was the view of snow which spurred me onward, despite the colder temperature it brought along.

You can see me wearing my fingerless gloves to try and compensate for the winter chill. For anyone looking to do a house extension, I suggest not getting a conservatory! Too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer, the room loses reasonable hospitality for around a third of the year. In the UK anyway, other climates may differ.

Anyway, this battle theme from Final Fantasy VII Remake is superb! I have wanted to learn it for quite a while now! I much prefer this version over the official piano collections, but that is my taste. The brilliant fast pace is a thrill to experience playing, although I stumbled a few times and messed up my tempo. Regardless, I am pleased with the result overall. I hope you enjoyed listening!

Community Contribution of the Year Sports Award

At the beginning of the year, my karate instructor and the dojo in which I train was awarded the Community Contribution of the Year award, given by the county sports council.

It was well deserved as my instructor has been running on average three zoom lessons every day, throughout these blasted lockdowns, which is an impressive commitment to providing an invaluable service throughout the pandemic.

Discussions are also underway with the council regarding the development of a new and much larger Dojo type facility. In order to progress these discussions through to the next stage and secure vital and necessary funding, we need as much support as possible by completing the Your Fund Surrey link.
