Overview

I would like to welcome you to Black Metro, a chaotic and dystopian city set in a science-fiction universe. Black Metro is a project I have been working on for the past 18 months. The Black Metro universe currently consists of a board game and accompanying novella.

My plan is to attend the UK Games Expo to raise awareness of the project.

Novella

The work is practically complete! I will be arranging an order soon, and the game plan is to sell the book at the UK Games Expo, as well as enter it into a competition for Gaming Novelty Award. After which, I may look to create an option for people to buy it online.

Game

Good progress has been made on developing the game to date. I intend to release the game digitally this year, and use the UK Games Expo as an opportunity to showcase a physical beta-prototype. I have also entered the design into the Cardboard Edison competition.

Briefing

Black Metro is an independent city at odds
with the rising empire. It is governed by one
who has the title of Overlord.

Might is right but not to the extent of blatant
physical violence. After all, there would be no
purpose governing a city if all of its subjects
were dead! One could say that the city is ruled
with a loose, iron fist. A controlled chaos if you
will.

Despite the seemingly imposing nature of the
city and its inhabitants, it is not a rundown
place. On the contrary, there is ample
opportunity to rise to power. But only for
those ambitious and daring enough to brave
their way through whatever stands against
them; be that openly or from within the
shadows.

The current Overlord of Black Metro intends to
vacate his seat of power. Therefore there is an
opportunity for a worthy individual to take the
mantle and rule over the city. To find a
successor, a challenge has been issued to
potential candidates.

“The candidate who has proven themselves
most worthy by the end of the tournament,
shall acquire the deed to the city.”

Only through scientific advancement, asserting
dominance and fulfilling missions, can anyone
hope to rise to the top to claim the deed and
become the next Overlord of Black Metro!
