Overview

As the year draws to a close, I pull back the curtain and unveil my second book, Home Workout! I have been busy these past couple of months, assembling this masterpiece.

95% of people who make a New Year’s resolution to get into shape fall off the track. The vast majority of that 95% fade out within the first month, succumbing to mediocrity.

The remainder may make some progress, but invariably, the results attained are sporadic at best. Sure, they have gotten a bit stronger, but overall, they are not where they would like to be.

  • Do they have some secret knowledge that no one else has access to?
  • Are they jacked up on drugs to attain the results that they have?

There are perhaps a few instances where the above questions may hold, but in the vast majority of cases, the answer is not so complicated. The fact is, everyone who is alive today has had their genetics passed on from the mightiest of ancestors — people who survived in the harshest of conditions, against the toughest of adversaries.

Greatness pulses through the blood in your veins! It is encoded within your DNA, which has been inherited to you through generations of fighters, warriors and conquerors!

Back in ancient times, anyone who was too weak, incapable or slow, invariably met their end from wild animals, other stronger humans, or even the forces of nature. The strong, powerful, and mighty survived, passed on their genes, and eventually, you inherited them!

So what makes the 5% percent attain success where the 95% falter?

COMMITMENT.

Elite athletes are constantly training with injuries and other inconveniences. Sure, they may have to change things up a little to accommodate such annoyances, but they find a way, and they stay committed to the cause. They do not yield in the face of adversity. You must generate a burning inferno of fiery resolution to commit to a goal and never waiver. Your flame must be strong enough to reduce any excuse to ash and burn away any setback that presents itself. Eventually, you may find that your fire blazes so brightly, that you become a beacon of inspiration for others, as I have done.

But I was not always this way.

The Past

That is what I used to look like way back when. I had zero muscle definition. I was skin and bones and weak as hell.

Do you want to know what woke me up? 

I was on holiday in Australia, training at the first karate club I ever trained at, way back at the age of seven. I was nineteen years old at the time, having acquired my black belt just a few months ago. The first set of exercises for the warm-up was to do fifty sit-ups and fifty push-ups. The sit-ups were okay, but I could barely get to five push-ups before my body succumbed.

I was the last one in the class to finish the full fifty push-ups, behind people of lower rank (including white belts) and people much older than me (even people who must have been over forty years old).

Another exercise we did was a partner drill where one person had their legs held up by the other, and you had to use your hands to walk across the dojo. I don’t even think I made it halfway across before my arms buckled. I distinctly remember at that point, the Sensei came over to me and pointed to a green belt that was well into his forties, and he had made it to the end.

 “See that guy over there? He’s over forty years old and a green belt”.

I was humiliated. I was a black belt that was weak as hell. The Sensei wasn’t trying to be demeaning; he was stating the facts. I walked out of that class with the determination to never feel that kind of embarrassment ever again. 

That defining moment marked the birth of Home Workout. At the time, though, I had no idea. I simply wanted to attain warrior strength. I spent the next decade committed to working out at home in addition to the martial arts classes I took.

The Present

I am twenty-nine years of age at the time of writing. Over a decade has passed since that embarrassing blunder. Over ten years, I have spent meticulously creating, modifying, and implementing my workout routine.

Mistakes were made, and lessons were learned. It is all part of the creative process. Through my unyielding persistence and undying resolve spanning over a decade, I created my flagship workout routine. The full-body training regime I have used to both build and maintain my fighting fit body.

Then you will be ready for the advanced version, which is for the seasoned fitness person, trained athlete, or military personnel. The advanced version will transform your body into one befitting of a wild hunting animal.
