Commencing operation . . .
Overview
I don’t know about you, but sometimes, I need a bit of crunch to go with my salad. I used to resort to crisps or chips to satisfy my bite, but unfortunately, most products of this nature tend towards the unhealthy realm. I was, therefore, on the hunt for a healthier alternative, and my search led me to these oatcakes by nairn’s.

My Thoughts
These oatcakes are made from whole grain oats, are high in fibre and make for a good source of protein. They are also low in sugar, salt, and saturated fats, making these oatcakes a particularly healthy consumption choice, and all are allures that drew me to them.
I also like how the oatcakes are rationed into sachets, as it naturally discourages binge eating. There is a physical barrier that must be overcome to overindulge in these oatcakes. Unlike large packets of crisps, I know it can be all too easy to devour the whole bag in one go. I am guilty of it, and I am sure you are also. Portion control is a great way to manage weight, so any product which encourages it gets a tick in my book.
Conclusion
If you have been looking for a crunchy substitute to crisps, chips, or crackers, definitely give these oatcakes a try. They are incredibly versatile and synergise well with all manner of dips. I accompany my salad with them, but I imagine they would be a great bread alternative to have with soups. Maybe you’ll discover your own combination using these oatcakes. If you do, let me know in the comment below.
