Best Eats – Off the Eaten Path

Commencing operation . . .

Overview

Those of you who regularly follow my material will know that I am constantly on the lookout for new healthy snacks to try out, particular those which can be used as a substitute for crisps. My latest find is from a company called Off the Eaten Path. They make lots of healthy snacks, but the one I am reviewing today is a simplistic sea salt flavour of pea and bean sticks!

Analysis

The ingredients list is clean. An absence of difficult to pronounce chemicals is always a good sign. They contain a lot of protein and fibre without too much salt. The carbohydrate content is high, but that is to be expected for a snack. At least only a small amount of those carbs are sugar-based.

Conclusion

Off the eaten path has exceeded my expectations! Although each bag contains only 100 grams of food, they are not too moreish, and each individual stick is not too big, so a bag lasts three to four servings for me. I suspect bigger eaters would finish a bag in two sessions, however. The value for money is personally good for me but perhaps not the case for others.

Putting price aside, the snack itself is a great healthy alternative to crisps, and I definitely recommend giving them a go – the crunchy texture is super satisfying!
