ABSOLUTE ASCENDANCY

Commencing Operation . . .

I was recommended by both my parents and Shihan Nick King to stop by and try out the new burger joint in Bellingen if the opportunity presented itself to me. I decided to stop by while returning home from my training visit with Shihan Nick King. It is a small cafe style environment with a few regular tables as well as an area with raised tables and chairs for higher seating. There is also seating outside with umbrella stands to shield from the sun or rain.

I was greeted by a nice lady who presented the menu to me. They offered a wide variety of burgers, including options for vegetarians and vegans. All burgers are served with a complimentary side of crunchy potato fries with their homemade garlic aioli. I chose to have a vegan portobello burger, and I was not disappointed. The meal was prepared pretty swiftly, and it was presented to me on a timber plate which was visually refreshing from the bog standard plates which are typically used. I could tell that they used fresh, quality ingredients for the burger, and I especially enjoyed the super crunchy potato fries. Their homemade aioli was pretty good too. The burger was sturdy in my hands, I was able to comfortably eat it without having to worry about the insides spilling out. The bun itself was not soggy either, in fact, it was nice and crispy. The assortment of vegetables melted in my mouth with each bite, the burger was a real treat to eat! I was so immersed on eating my burger that I almost didn’t notice when the lady asked me how my meal was, I was that focussed on my lunch! My self-awareness is usually pretty good as well.

The service was outstanding, the lady left a lasting impression on me. To be honest, that is the reason for this review. She won me over. The burger joint is a small business, and she left me with a strong desire to want to help her out. This is my way of doing just that. Spreading the word and highlighting my experience. I’d personally like to see them offer onion rings as a side option in addition to the regular and sweet potato fries. I can be a bit of a sucker for onion rings. It’s unfortunate that I am no longer in the area so I won’t be able to return and enjoy the experience for the foreseeable future.

If you’re looking for a small, quiet spot to grab a quick but fulfilling meal, head down to Bello Burger. Attentive service coupled with good, quality food, you’d be hard pressed to go wrong!
